Fellow St. Pete residents; I want you to do something. Get in your car, hail a cab, jump on the Central Ave Trolley and head West until, (as Brad Paisley says) the map turns BLUE. How lucky and blessed are we that we live so close to the country's most BEAUTIFUL Beaches and Islands?
Today I did JUST THAT. I got in a car with my Mom and kids and after picking my son up from school and surprising him with Grandma in the car, we hit my personal fav, Treasure Island. My son has recently been turned onto Pokemon (who HASN'T?!) and he REALLY REALLY wanted to look for water Pokemon by the beach. So we went, but before we did, I asked the kids to take some shots with me as I hadn't picked up the camera in quite a long time. My plan was to go and hit up the beach and have these beautifully posed shots to revamp my site with.
That did not go as planned. AT. ALL.
But something else happened, once they hit the sand, they forgot all about Pokemon and pictures. They saw the beautiful Gulf and forgot all, and just jumped in.
I managed to grab ONE posed shot, but the rest were candid and as the sun set and the storm clouds started to roll in, I realized something. We all need to learn from our children every once in a while:
Just jump in.
